Immigration has been one of GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump’s cornerstone issues, and according to new polling data, it could win him the presidency if he continues to emphasize issues such as curbing the number of illegal immigrants entering the country, securing jobs for Americans and protecting American incomes.

Breitbart reported a poll it conducted in conjunction with Gravis Marketing revealed that illegal immigration is not only a problem but perhaps the biggest problem currently facing Americans.

“The poll shows that instead of dividing Americans, immigration is an issue where Americans have reached the consensus that it is a problem, maybe the problem,” Doug Kaplan, managing partner of Gravis Marketing, told Breitbart.

Data suggested Republicans could secure victory in November if the party portrayed Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton’s immigration policy as an attempt to saturate the labor supply with foreign workers while decreasing incomes for American workers.

The poll revealed that 63 percent of U.S. voters believed immigration should be reduced instead of increased.

A whopping 75 percent of voters believed unemployed American workers should be considered for a U.S. job before a foreign worker brought in from another country, and 61 percent said any president who would rather give jobs to foreign workers over Americans is “unfit to hold office.”

The poll surveyed a random choice of 2,010 registered voters, and it looks like they are concerned with how illegal immigration will affect this country and their futures.
